Common Ground/Uncommon Vision: The Michael and Julie Hall Collection of American Folk Art
5/25/1996 - 9/8/1996

Organized by the Milwaukee Art Museum, this exhibition presents one of the nation's finest collections of American Folk Art. The Hall Collection consists of objects ranging from an eighteenth century weather vane to works by recent outsider artists.

Included in the exhibition are paintings, sculpture, works on paper, ceramics, whirligigs, walking sticks, decoys and lodgehall paraphernalia. The collection is most outstanding in sculpture and twentieth century objects and these aspects serve as a provocative foil for the most traditional objects
.
