Hardboiled: Artists and Eggs

 The Norton Museum of Art opened a new exhibition entitled Hardboiled: Artists and Eggs on March 19, 2001. This exhibition includes 28 projects made by both Norton Museum of Art ArtSource members and other local artists. Each artist received a wooden egg that served as the basis of his or her project. Artists were allowed to decorate the eggs in any fashion and could submit up to three eggs for consideration. The egg designs vary from political satire to religious expressions to witty seasonal icons and will be on display in the Marden Community Gallery. Through these whimsical seasonal artworks, the exhibition supports the mission of the Education Department by engaging audiences through a variety of stimulating programs at the Norton Museum of Art.

The Norton Museum of Art and a steering committee of South Florida artists created ArtSource for the benefit of professional artists who reside in Palm Beach, Martin, Broward and Dade counties. This affiliation was designed to provide a forum for the exchange of ideas as well as practical artistic concerns. It is the Museum's goal to take a leadership role in nurturing the artist of South Florida.
