    Glowing and glaze light and shadow technique inspired by Sorolla

    Join Resident Teaching Artist Lymari Cuevas to Let's do a light and shadow technique with watercolor inspired by Sorolla masterpieces. Guests will explore rich watercolors and the theme of the sea.

  • Lecture

    Amanda W. Dotseth, Ph.D., Spanish art scholar and Linda P. and William A. Custard Director of the Meadows Museum at Southern Methodist University, discusses Joaquín Sorolla’s life and one of his great artistic muses: the sea. The painter’s singular ability to capture the light of the sea fueled his remarkable popularity among American collectors during his lifetime.

  • Music / Vivi + Friends

    The Norton is pleased to welcome back Vivi + Friends. Vivian Valls, also known as ViVi, is a Miami born-and-raised vocalist and songwriter. As a recent Berklee College of Music graduate, she is bringing her talents back home with a fresh take on grooves you’re bound to know and love— from pop, R&B, to reggae and jazz. Influenced by the likes of Amy Winehouse and Beyoncé, her performance style can be described as vibrant and soulful. Alongside her band, they strive to capture the ears of their audience and make it almost impossible to sit still.
