Community Access Program
The Norton Museum of Art is partnering with local non-profit organizations that provide services for the community. We have created the Community Access Program (CAP) to welcome more audiences to enjoy our exhibitions, educational programs, and special events at no cost to themselves.
The goals of the Community Access Program are:
-
To learn, create, and grow with the people of our community by offering opportunities to engage with the diverse media and traditions of the visual arts through multicultural art projects, museum tours, and community events.
-
To provide a space for creativity, art conversations, and community engagement for participants in a safe and supportive environment.
CAP Organization Partners receive the following:
Guest Passes - General admission guest passes are given annually to the CAP Partner Organization to share with their patrons so they can visit anytime during the Museum’s public hours of operation.
Distance Learning: Virtual Tour + Art Activity – Audiences that cannot visit the museum in-person can experience the museum’s collection and special exhibitions through live, virtual guided tours.
Hybrid Distance Learning: Virtual Tour + In-Person Art Activity – The virtual guided tour can be accompanied by an art activity at the CAP Partner Organization site, led by the Norton’s Community Programs Manager and the College Committee students that assist with CAP.
CAP Group Tours + Art Activity – CAP Partner Organizations can arrange for their patrons’ tours, complimentary transportation (available on an as-needed basis for organizations in Palm Beach County), free admission, free lunch, and an art-making workshop at the museum. Groups are limited to 25 participants and the Community Programs Manager conducts surveys after in-person tours.
CAP Community Meetings & Events – Upon request, the Norton Community Programs Manager will attend special events hosted by partnering organizations to connect further with the community.
