South Florida-based artists lead informal, 30-minute gallery talks about works in the Norton’s collection and special exhibitions.

    Explore great works in the Museum collection led by one of the Museum’s fine docents.

  • Curator Conversation / Saul Steinberg: Braque, bric-a-brac, THINK!

    Mark Pascale, Janet and Craig Duchossois Curator of Prints and Drawings, the Art Institute of Chicago and Adjunct Professor at the School of the Art Institute, will provide an overview of Saul Steinberg's career as a draftsman, illustrated with drawings from the collection of the Art Institute of Chicago, and the Norton Museum of Art.

  • Open Studio / Elaborate Doodles Inspired by Saul Steinberg

    Do you doodle in class or as you take notes? Who doesn't love scribbling?!

    Join us for a series of drawing exercises with a variety of prompts to create whimsical doodles with artist Shawna Moulton. Open to all ages and levels of artistic talent.

  • Performance / Klezmer Company Jazz Orchestra

    Klezmer Company Jazz Orchestra (KCJO) is a cross-genre ensemble that defies classification. Inspired by Saul Steinberg: A Writer Who Draws, this evening’s concert will reflect the music played in New York City in the early to mid-20th century. KCJO will perform a mixture of genres including Klezmer music (Jewish folk music), Romanian Bulgars, Broadway, and swing tunes.

  • Guía

    Stop by Frida Kahlo, Diego Rivera and Mexican Modernism from the Jacques and Natasha Gelman Collection to engage in conversations about art with the John I. Leonard High School students from the Norton’s Guía program.

  • Artist Tour with Tim Mitchell

    South Florida-based artist lead informal, 30-minute gallery talks about works in the Norton’s collection and special exhibitions.

    About the artist: Tim Mitchell is an accomplished artist, musician, and educator. From CEO / Publisher and Creator of Loud Comics, an international multicultural comic book company, to working as a touring musician in legendary Florida hard rock band Crazy Agnes, to being an art educator for the School District of Palm Beach County, Tim has had many adventures that have influenced his own personal journey as a professional artist. Join Mitchell on a tour that discusses works of art that resonate with his practice and visits the special exhibition Saul Steinberg: A Writer Who Draws. Tours are limited to 14 participants. Pick up wristbands one hour before the program at the Visitor Experience Desk. First come, first served.
