Exhibition Insights / “Years of Glass”: Collecting a new medium

Friday, April 29 / 6PM-7PM

William Warmus, Fellow and former Curator of Modern Glass at the Corning Museum of Glass, explores forty years of collecting glass at the Norton, from its dramatic use in the 20th century by artists like Dale Chihuly, to its avid adoption in the 21st by the fine art world, including artists Olafur Eliasson and Rob Wynne. Warmus will discuss how the new medium has been integrated into the contemporary collection of the museum, and why the United Nations has declared this the “Year of Glass.”
