Lecture / Ancestral Pottery of The Verde Valley

Join Monica Buckle, Executive Director of the Verde Valley Archaeology Center and Museum in Camp Verde, Arizona, for a presentation on the museum’s Ancestral Hopi, Puebloan, and Yavapai pottery collection. Learn to identify patterns, motifs, and construction techniques of prehistoric pottery from the Verde Valley. Buckle will present an analysis of intrusive pottery that was imported into the region through extensive trade networks and connections across the Greater American Southwest and Mesoamerica.

Monica Buckle is an enrolled member of the Cherokee Nation. She holds a master’s degree in art business from Sotheby’s Institute of Art in New York and a Bachelor of Science Degree from Lynn University in Boca Raton, Florida.

This event will take place in the Museum in Stiller Auditorium; Monica Buckle will join us virtually.
