Games Around the World Community Day

Celebrate Summer at the Norton with a day of creativity and discovery with Games Around the World. This community day features a variety of programs in the Museum’s galleries and garden, celebrating works in the Norton’s Collection and cultural traditions from around the globe. 

Main events include the South Florida Pétanque Club, Palm Beach Chess Club, and an interactive performance of Afro-Brazilian martial arts by Capoeira Karkara Cultural Arts Center. 

Games Around the World also features Lotería, a traditional Mexican game of chance, animated films, art activities, docent-led tours, outdoor games, and more. All ages and ability levels are welcome.

  • Learn and Play Chess | Pearson Room

    Palm Beach Chess coaches will be available to teach chess and introduce more experienced players to the finer points of the game.

    Meet enthusiasts of this French game that is a bit like bowling and bocci, and try the sport yourself.

    Want to play against a master? State champion and USCF National Master Bryan Tillis will play a simultaneous exhibition match against multiple players all at once.

    Serving Palm Beach County for over 17 years, the Capoeira Karkara Cultural Arts Center is committed to sharing their passion for Capoeira, an Afro-Brazilian martial art that challenges you physically, mentally, and emotionally, while having fun in a playful, family-friendly environment. Families, kids, teens, and adults of all ages and ability levels are welcome to attend!
