Gala 2022

On Thursday, April 7, 2022, the Norton Museum of Art held its annual Gala in celebration of Frida Kahlo, Diego Rivera and Mexican Modernism from the Jacques and Natasha Gelman Collection–an extraordinary exhibition that accounted for the largest grouping of Frida Kahlo and Diego Rivera works ever to be on view at the Norton. The evening also honored Howard and Judie Ganek, whose transformative gift of contemporary art is featured in a special exhibition currently on view, The Howard and Judie Ganek Collection. The Gala raised more than $2 million for Museum education programs and exhibitions. 

Gala goers were treated to cocktails in the garden, dinner, and late-night dancing to soulful music by The Millennials band. The Museum’s Benefit Auction coincided with this year’s Gala. A work by contemporary American painter Will Cotton was auctioned live by Sotheby’s. Cotton’s commission work sold for $140,000.
